Why a Retreat for Book Lovers?
There’s something about Provence that slows your heart rate and sparks your imagination. Maybe it’s the honeyed light, or the rhythm of life in its village squares. At Maison d’Amies, we created our November retreat with book lovers in mind, women who want time to read, reflect, and connect with other curious souls in a place that feels like the setting of their favorite novel.
This isn’t a silent reading retreat or an intensive writing workshop. It’s a space for nourishment of your mind, your palate, and your spirit.
A Slow Start: Mornings in Provence
Our days begin unhurried. You’ll wake in a sun-drenched room in a charming home in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the beloved Provençal town known for its antiques, waterways, and slower pace.
We don’t gather for fireside chats, instead conversations about the books we’re reading happen organically over breakfast as we ease into our day filled with adventure and exploring the region. Our private chef prepares a beautiful breakfast spread, and guests often drift from cozy corners with a novel in hand to the breakfast table, where conversation begins to hum.
Midday Wanderings & Storybook Villages
Each day brings a new local adventure, together we'll spend time visiting a market, exploring nearby hill towns, or savoring a long lunch with local wine. We’ve designed the itinerary to offer both movement and rest, so you never feel rushed. Want to spend the afternoon reading in the courtyard? That’s encouraged.
Our retreats are built on the philosophy of slow travel: experiencing a place with intention, learning its rhythms, and allowing room for discovery. Whether you’re wandering the stalls of the Sunday market or getting lost in a side street with a fresh croissant in hand, you’re writing your own story here.

Evenings of Wine, Words, and Warmth
Evenings are simple and soul-nourishing. Our chef serves seasonal dinners, and you might find yourself deep in conversation over dessert about the book you brought, or the life chapter you’re living.
There’s no pressure to perform or impress. This retreat is about presence, not productivity. It’s a space to be witnessed, to exhale, and to rediscover the pleasure of sharing a table (and a few pages) with other women.
How to Join the November 2025 Retreat
Our Book Lovers Retreat runs November 1-7, 2025 in the heart of Provence. The group is intentionally small, ensuring intimacy and ease, and our chef-led meals, curated excursions, and cozy home base make this a true reset before the holidays.

We anticipate this retreat will fill quickly. Booking closes September 1, or when the remaining spots are filled.
What’s Included:
6 nights in a beautiful private home in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
All of our meals shared together, including chef-prepared dinners
Curated excursions to local markets, towns, and cultural sites
Quiet time and space to read, rest, and reflect
A welcoming group of women who love to travel and learn
Starting at $4,300 Per Guest
Our retreat groups are smaller than ever before to preserve the intimacy and ease that make these experiences so special. That means spots are extremely limited—and we expect this one to fill quickly.
