A Place for Every Woman: Why Inclusivity Matters at Maison d'Amies

When I first dreamed up Maison d'Amies, I envisioned more than just a beautiful retreat in Provence...I imagined a place where every woman could feel completely at ease. A space where no one has to shrink, explain, or pretend. A space where being yourself is not only accepted, but warmly celebrated.

That dream is now the heartbeat of everything we do.

A Safe Space Is An Intentional One

It's easy to say "everyone's welcome," but true inclusivity takes more than a tagline. It taks care, curiosity, and continual action. At Maison d'Amies, we work intentionally to create an environment where all women feel safe and seen. This includes:

• women of color

• solo travelers

• women of all body sizes and abilities

From the language we use in our marketing to the tone we set at the table, we are always thinking about how to ensure no one feels "othered" here. We know how many women have felt excluded or invisible in travel spaces and that's something we're actively working to change.

Designed With You in Mind

Our retreats are intimate and carefully curated. They are made up of small groups, cozy homes, and zero pressure to perform or "fit in." You won't find cliques or comparison here. What you will find is women laughing and swapping stories over glasses of wine in the garden or over our morning coffee. A space that allows for quiet companionship, soulful conversations, and a safe space to just be.

We know that conversations around identity, inclusion, and belonging can bring up some strong feelings. If you have questions about what our inclusive values mean or why we center them, we're open to respectful dialogue. We believe growth happens when we stay curious, not defensive.

That said, if the idea of welcoming all women makes you uncomfortable, or if you're looking for a space that excludes or divides, then Maison d'Amies may not be the right fit for you.
